Hello and a warm welcome to activagers.com, the place for the mature British community catering for the age 40+ community. If you have ever felt left out in a world that seems to be aimed at the teens to twenty-somethings then you’ve come to the right place!
You may be a technophobe who wants to try out social networking but are bamboozled by the youth-centred Facebook, or maybe you’re using Twitter to keep one step of your grandchildren? Whatever your online skills you’ll find a niche on activagers.
As some of you will know the site has just been ticking over for a few months, but now we’re all set to show that the mature generations can have the most fun on the Internet.
There will be more information soon but in the meantime here are some key points that will ensure you can make the most of activagers:
1) Do add some personal details like your photo, your age and some information about yourself. This is the fastest way to get accepted into an online community as it generates trust because people like to know who they are talking to.
2) Do reach out to people and make new contacts as you may be surprised by what you have in common and what you can learn from people of different walks of life.
3) Don’t send a message asking for their email address. The message system of the site allows you to make contact and create a friendship. If you ask for someone’s email address the first time you contact them you run the risk of being classed as a spammer and having your account deleted. We have zero tolerance to spammers on this site.
4) Have fun and don’t forget to invite your current online friends to join you. This community will grow quickly so join the fun part and be there at the start!
More information soon, but do send us a message and say hello!
